Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1849) was a Japanese artist, painter, and printmaker who was born in Edo, modern-day Tokyo. Under the Wave off Kanagawa, one of the prints from the Mt Fuji series, became more recognizable than others. It is known simply as the Great Wave. It portrays a rogue wave menacing three boats off the coast while Mount Fuji rises in the background.
An expert level quilt to delight and challenge artists, Japanese and anime fans, alike.
